Ruth DeLynn Education Center
Located at 1912 Orange Ave, the Ruth DeLynn Education Center is the answer for many young individuals looking for a career in the construction fields.
The center opened in 2007 and offered drywall installation and finishing as the first curriculum. The second semester began September 17, and will offer fourteen students a plumbing opportunity by utilizing the NCCER Plumbing Curriculum. The students will complete their 10-hour OSHA certification as well as first aid and CPR.
In addition to trade and job site-specific courses, life skills’ training is provided each of the 15 weeks. A special opportunity this semester is the involvement of seven local companies, taking students into the work place. The students will have an opportunity to work alongside plumbers and supply personnel, seeing exactly how their training fits into the work place.
